“Karen’s Noggin’ 🧠 Nuggets” #51 ~ January 6, 2023

I admit it. Yes, it’s true. I’m so motivated by success. I search for positives in all situations. I want to turn bad things around for good. It may seem odd, but I want to look for the good in bad situations. I’m tested in yucky situations to see if I’m staying positive or if I can find the good in bad situations.

What’s the good news? What’s the best thing that has happened to you today? This week? This month? This year? Your life?

Those are all good questions that focus on the positives, and they can show to be contagious which creates more positives.

What are your successes? What have you done right today, this week, etc?

I’m learning more every day about how important it is to focus on those successes! Especially since I am not motivated by negative reinforcement.

As I think about the power of positivity and how it relates to success, I’m reminded of what God wants to show us in His Word.

God never said, be mulligrubbie, and I’ll bless you.

God never said, walk-in disbelief, and your prayers will be answered.

God never said, to look at all the bad things that happen and good things will come to you.

You cannot expect blessings, answers to prayers, and good things to come to you if you choose to be mulligrubbie, walk-in disbelief, and focus on all the bad things that have happened to you.

This is why it is so important to train our brains! We can train our brains on what we want them to think about. Just like we exercise or work out for the other parts of our bodies and train them to do what we want them to do. How much more important is it to train our brains?

If we could just tell our brains what they are going to think. As we know any new habit, takes discipline, motivation, and determination. Since we are pretty much always thinking about something, wouldn’t it feel great to control what those thoughts will be?

As I’m writing this, I’m reminded of one of my favorite scriptures. Philippians 4:8-9. No matter the translation, it makes it clear that when we fill our minds and meditate on what is:

~ Authentic ~ True ~ Real ~ Noble ~ Honorable ~ Honest ~ Reputable ~ Worthy of Respect ~ Right ~ Just ~ Pure ~ Admirable ~ Beautiful ~ Compelling ~ Confirmed by God’s Word ~ Lovely ~ Respectful ~ Gracious ~ Pure ~ Good Report ~ The Best Not The Worst ~ Wholesome ~ Virtue ~ Holy ~ The Beautiful Not The Ugly ~ Excellent ~ Praise ~ Merciful ~ Things To Praise Not Things To Curse ~ Brings Peace ~ Praiseworthy ~ Kind ~ Good Repute ~ Excellence ~ Worthy Of Praise ~

We will have the peace that only God can give us. God (who is the source) of peace and well-being will be with you. When we think about these good things and practice them daily, the God of peace will be with us in all things.

There it is, with these two verses in the Bible, it tells us what to do with our thoughts. To keep thinking about all the good things. And the results are amazing. That’s how success happens. God is clear on what our role is with our thoughts, and it is for our benefit. It is not to hurt us but to help and bless us. He knew we would need help with our thoughts and how to train our brains!

What are you doing with your thoughts?

What do you want? It all starts by training your brain and deciding on your thoughts.

What do you want to achieve? It all starts by training your brain and deciding on your thoughts.

What do you want to think? It all starts by training your brain and deciding on your thoughts.

If I can train my brain to focus on the positives, what is right and what is good, I know you can too!
